We are delighted to announce that our application to the Low Carbon Skills Fund has been successful.

The funding, which is run by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, is delivered by Salix. We are working with Barker Associates to develop detailed Heat Decarbonisation Plans, which will inform our sustainability plan and link to our Estates Strategy.

The plans are being developed at Chantry Academy, Chesterton Primary School, Gusford Primary School, Highfield Ely Academy, Pakefield Primary School and Reydon Primary School. This builds on the decarbonisation plans we have in place across our other schools and will inform our approach to reducing our carbon footprint in future years.

We have started this work already with significant investment in solar panels, LEDs and updated heating systems, which has already seen a 20% reduction in consumption.
