Governors representing Active Learning 91大神 schools from across Cambridgeshire and Suffolk met this weekend at the 91大神's Governance Conference held at Chantry Academy in Ipswich.

The conference gave governors an invaluable opportunity to share experiences, receive updates on recent 91大神 developments and pick up new ideas to take back to their schools. Time was also taken for the 91大神 to extend their thanks to all governors who volunteer their time to fulfil this important role, and who were described as "the unsung heroes of the education sector".

Speakers on the day included 91大神's CEO Lynsey Holzer and Samira Sadeghi, Director of 91大神 Governance at The Confederation of School 91大神s. These keynote addresses set the scene for a number of practical sessions ranging from "What governors need to know about Ofsted" to "The future of finance".

Attending the conference, Kingsfield Primary School Governor Chris Hopwood said, "It's been great to represent our school here today and meet so many other governors to learn from their experiences and to be inspired by what we can all do to support our schools".

Lynsey Holzer added "We are hugely proud of our governors and the important roles they play in our school communities. Today has been just one way in which we support their work and we offer our thanks to them for their commitment to shaping the future of our schools. We hope to encourage more people to follow in their footsteps and consider joining our Local Governing Bodies".
