Pakefield Primary School in Lowestoft is celebrating being awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) in recognition of the school’s commitment to excellence in science teaching and learning.
The school was praised for its high expectations of teachers and pupils. In his review of the school, PSQM Reviewer Ed Walsh also said: “The school has been very effective at building on its prior developments and achievements, recognising what it does well and focusing on next steps. It is also very good at analysing evidence to judge if developments are working.”
Martyn Payne, Executive Headteacher of Pakefield Primary School, said “We are so pleased to have been recognised for the high-quality science curriculum at our school. Children get very excited about science and enjoy their learning, showing confidence in lessons and beyond. Our Science Leader is knowledgeable, confident and effective in reflecting on changes in the curriculum that have led to high quality science in our school.”
PSQM is a one-year school improvement programme for primary science, which provides professional development for new and experienced subject leaders each year. PSQM enables confident, knowledgeable, reflective leadership which results in an improvement in the way in which science is planned and taught across the whole school.
The Primary Science Quality Mark is led by the University of Hertfordshire in collaboration with the Primary Science Teaching 91大神.
